SOKOL POSTER STAMPS (Click on any image to view an enlarged version) Poster stamps are stamps bearing advertising, usually for an event or product, and often reproducing an actual poster that was used at the same time. They were used widely in Europe in the early 20th century, especially in Germany, and in the US and other countries as well. The strip above shows the history of the All-Sokol Slets prior to 1938.
